Website Reviewed: Maverick Money Maker

Maverick Money MakerIf you are venturing into the world of affiliate marketing, and have been searching the net among the various programs to get you started in affiliate marketing, or help you advance your affiliate marketing business, you have undoubtedly come across the Maverick Money Makers club and wondered, like we did, if this program is really as foolproof as it is made out to be.

Mack Michaels, mastermind behind and co-developer of the Maverick Money Makers club, promises that by sharing his secrets and methods of success, all levels of affiliate marketers from novice to advanced will experience his level of wealth and financial success.  After convincing us that he’s just one of the little guys like us, trying to get ahead with some big dreams that he was often laughed at for, he hooks us with his own realization that the affiliate marketing business is really much easier than most programs make it seem, and that virtually anyone can be successful in the business without even having a product to sell or a website by becoming a member.

The website states that there will only be a fixed number of members accepted into the club, after which time the site will be shut down, of course prompting quick action from any interested parties.

What You’ll Get

Upon the decision to purchase the Maverick Money Maker, Mack Michaels emails his book “How to Get Started with Making Money Online” directly to the purchaser.

The program is very impressive in that it explains how to get started in affiliate marketing in a step by step method which is perfect for those who are not even familiar with the terminology of the industry yet. The program also outlines short cut methods that will help the more advanced user advance through the program more quickly, advancing at their own pace according to their level of experience.

Also helpful are the indications of warning signs of what to look out for as there are lots of scam artists out there.

Potential Drawbacks

The initial $97 fee to join the Maverick Money Maker is higher than many good programs on the market.  In fact, if you are really strapped for cash, you can easily find reputable programs that cost half as much as the MMM club.

The initial $97 fee is a recurring monthly charge to remain in the club.

The advantage to Maverick Money Maker, though, is that the site is well maintained and updated monthly to continue bringing industry advancements to the affiliate marketer which will keep their online business fresh and continuing to make money.

If you’re looking for a program that you really don’t have to pay attention to, this likely is not the one for you.  Since the club website is predicated on interaction between members as well as instruction from the program host, it is easy to become overwhelmed by all of the site information if you are not organized and disciplined.

Aside from teaching the traditional affiliate marketing methods, and also some pretty innovative ones, much of the profit to be made from the program is in recruiting of additional club members, resulting in a virtual pyramid scheme.  While this provides more opportunity for members to make money, it also fosters intense competition between club members.

One of the best things about Mack Michaels’s program is that it is guaranteed to provide the level of success you desire or you can get your money back within the first 60 days.

The Recommendation

Overall, I highly recommend the Maverick Money Maker, as it provides every basic detail needed for the startup user, insightful and revolutionary methods to the veteran, and monthly updates to maintain a fresh approach to affiliate marketer for all members.

Make Money as a Copywriter

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

copywriter.jpgIf you are gifted at the art of writing, consider yourself both lucky and in demand.  As the advancements in technology have prompted more and more businesses to sell their services over the internet, most have found themselves frustrated in the fact that they are good at their core business but cannot seem to describe it effectively in a written format.  This is where the copywriter comes into play.

Providing services to the online industry in providing promotional copy to businesses wanting to create a website has really opened up the market for would be writers to generate income on their craft.

As most businesses that operate offline only rely on the services of an advertising firm to provide text content for their brochures and promotional materials, the popularity of the internet has propelled the writer into the forefront of demand as virtually every company, large or small, is now expected to have a website and most of the general population is either unskilled or unmotivated to effectively promote their own company by writing out the copy to apply to their website.

There are many internet avenues available for generating income for the copywriter, including providing website content, press releases, online advertising copy, promotional materials, direct marketing email content, contract proposals and general ghostwriting.

In order to market your own services as a copywriter, first and foremost have a portfolio of your work available.  Be sure to maintain the anonymity of your previous clients in all written work submitted for proposal to a new client, as your previous writings will likely be divulging the personal business practices of your previous clients, and most clients will consider your paid copy materials to be proprietary.  Make the substitution of any company name in your portfolio obvious in intention to preserve the personal information of former and future clients.  Use “ABC Company” in place of every company name in all of your past pieces, as an example.

Generally, a sample of previous work will be enough to land a copywriting job, in addition to agreement to payment terms.  If you are new at this and don’t have previous jobs to list in your portfolio, make some up.  You will be submitting your actual articles to a potential new client for his review in making a decision to hire you, so it is of no consequence if you wrote the article for an actual company last year and substituted the company name with “ABC Company”, or if you wrote it this morning, as long as the client appreciates and approves of your writing style and is confident in your ability to deliver a positive image of his company.

Launch your own website to promote yourself and your copywriting business.  There are loads of people out there that simply cannot do what you do, and they will go to the internet, like everyone else, to try to find someone who can.  Post your previous articles on your site.  List your services.  Include your fee structure.  And offer to provide any article for free if you do not meet the agreed upon deadline.  While your portfolio will demonstrate your writing ability, it cannot show how long it takes for you to complete the job.  It will be up to you to set a reasonable deadline with your new client and then do what it takes to follow through with it.  The offer of free service for missed deadlines will be the security that your new client needs to make his decision.

The Power of Article Marketing

Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Use of an online article directory to promote your business can be a very lucrative way to invite new potential customer to visit your website, if timed and written properly.  Article directories are beneficial to the directory owner as well as the article writer in the the directory will place paid advertisements on the pages of the article to generate revenue.  The relevance of the article to the ad placement will be of vital importance to ensure that both the article writer and the website directory owner will benefit from crossover marketing.  As the website gains in search engine list ranking, the number of articles and advertisement revenue will also increase.

Additional aspects of marketing to consider in article writing are the techniques of niche keyword usage in search engine optimization and prolific hyperlinks and backlinks to increase traffic to the article site as well as the article authors primary website.

Use of public article directories such as EzineArticles.com provide the author with exposure to the marketplace and advances in personal credibility which translate into increase in business hits to the personal website as he becomes quietly known as an “expert” in his field.  To increase the impact of your article submissions, be sure to use a title that both includes your keyword, for increase in SEO ranking, and is appealing to real people viewing the site list, so it will actually get read.  This two fold method of advertising your product or business will help ensure that your marketing message is getting as much exposure as possible.

Another strategic way to ensure as many reads of your articles as possible is to keep them short and sweet.  Typically 400 to 600 words is the range for internet based articles that will get the important points of topic relayed to your target market audience and not have your audience lose interest before the end of the article.  If you are accumulating backlinks or direct links from hits to your article, there will be some benefit even if the attention span of the reader does not last the duration of the article, but the main intention of the writing is to convince your target market of the importance of your product.

Simply put, most of the affiliate marketer program websites out there are simply tooooooooo looooooong.  We are all conditioned to scan these sites as the content is often repeated ad nauseum and we just want them to get to the point!  Don’t victimize your audience with the same error.  Concisely describe your position and rely on the intelligence of your audience to make the right decision.

A word must also be added about timing of article topics.  The proper timing, in combination with the right angle on the topic, can dramatically increase the viewing of your article.  You know what your core business is, and when your busiest time of the year is, and why.  Cater an article around these points and use it to increase your client list during your busiest season, or promote additional business on the off season.
